The BIG 20!

Well it's official, I have lost 20 pounds!! It's such a great feeling even though I do have about 15 more to go! All of my jeans are too big and my shirts are looking baggy on me. Of course it took me 6 months to get here but I am so happy to have gotten to this mile stone! I have cut out soda for the most part and I think thats helping. I am refusing to even buy soda for the house so that is helping tremendously! I keep telling myself I need to up my activity level and I think now that I have gotten to this point, I am going to work even harder to get those extra pounds off and go back to smaller sizes!

Pantry week number 4! Now I will be buying some meat this week with all the sales so I might change up a night or two but here it is as it stands now! I did pick up some bags of FREE Dole salad from Frys this week so I will be throwing those in the mix as well.

Monday: Another Memorial Day BBQ at a friends house.

Tuesday: Spagetti with Garlic Bread, Mashed Potatos and Corn

Wednesday: Homemade Pizza (if you are wondering why I make pizza at least once a week I have an abundance of pizza crusts from Pillsbury that I need to use lol)

Thursday: Brinner ~ French Toast with Scrambled Eggs

Friday: Teryaki Chicken with White Rice

Saturday: Grilled Cheese and Turkey Sandwhiches

Wow I havent updated my clean house in a while. Well I am happy to report that I am cleaning nearly every day and my house has been the cleanest in the past couple weeks! I have been super busy but my key tip has been multi-tasking.

When the kids are bathing, I clean the bathroom (well minus the tub of course lol).
When I am watching TV, I fold laundry and dust the living room.
When I am waiting for food to cook, I do a load of dishes, wipe down the counters, take old food out of the fridge, etc. If I am waiting on something, I try to find something else to do to fill my time!

By doing multiple things at once, I have been able to keep up with the house work efficiently. Another thing I am working on is a cleaning schedule which I will blog about next update.

Here we go with week 3 of using my pantry supplies. Now this week I noted my inventory and came up with some new ideas. I'm going to post my recipes, though I am not a very good recipe enscriber. I have always cooked off of a "whim" and just go with what feels right, I hardly use an actual recipe. When I do read recipes, I just read what ingredients they have and go on my own. Anyways, enjoy!

Monday: Hamburgers with Corn and Green Beans

Tuesday: Creamy Brocoli Pasta with Tuna (I'll be honest, this is tuna helper)

Wednesday: Homemade Chicken Enchiladas with Mexican Rice ~ I cut up chicken tenderloins and cook it in a salsa verde. I then cook taco shells in oil and dry them. Next I dip them in enchilada sauce as well as the chicken and roll it up. I top off the tray with cheese and cook it in the oven for about 30 minutes. Very easy and very tasty!

Thursday: Turkey dogs with Turkey Chili (hormel chili)

Friday: Homemade Pizza ~ for the sauce I use tomato sauce with freshly ground oregano, garlic, basil, onion, and salt. I use about a pinch of everything and grind it up, gives it a great flavor. I then top it with mozerella cheese.

Saturday: Homemade Nachos ~ These were a big hit this past week. I brown hambuger meat, and then use a taco seasoning. After the meat is seasoned, I line the casserole dish with a layer of tortilla chips, then a layer of meat, then a layer of chips, and a layer of meat again. I top with shredded cheese, and put in the microwave for about forty seconds. I normally dont even use the microwave but this seems to be a quick way to melt the cheese. I then top with salsa and sourcream and then its done!

Sunday: Memorial Day BBQ

So my sister came down from Flagstaff this weekend and came over to hang out today. When she had mentioned she was spending the night it only took me about two seconds to ask her if she would babysit, lol. Hubby and I havent had a date night in over a month so it was nice to get out of the house alone. It was pretty low key but we had fun and didnt spend over twenty bucks! We saw a movie, went to dinner, got dessert, and hung out underneath the stars. This was a great reminder that we need to do this more often so I will try to put this on our monthly calendar before the month even comes :D

It's another week of utilizing my pantry and stockpile all the while just trying to save money =)
